Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for agreeing to help.

I need 20 volunteers from your DPA batch to act as facilitators at next week's DPA orientation camp for the 09 batch.
Training will be provided, and at the end, I will award you guys CCA points.
And since the training and the camp will be held during the school week, I'll write up some letters to get you guys excused from your classes.

Here are the details:

Training for facilitators:
Date: Monday, 12 January 2009, and Tuesday, 13 January 2009
Time: 3pm to 8pm
Venue: The Sports Activities Centre Blk 16 #01-07 - just opposite the swimming pool snack bar
No promises, but I am trying to see if I can cater some light refreshments and sandwiches for you guys for this.

Actual camp:
Date: Wednesday, 14 January 2009 to Friday, 16 January 2009
Time to report on Wednesday: 730am
Venue for reporting: The Sports Activities Centre Blk 16 #01-07 - just opposite the swimming pool snack bar
This is a 3D2N residential camp, and you guys will be required to stay the night on campus together with the DPA09 batch.
Accommodation will be provided - you'll be staying at the Loft@94, and meals will be provided too.

I need the 20 names by 5pm tomorrow, or Saturday morning at the latest, so that i can prepare your excuse letters.

DPA OUTING 2008: OFFICIAL

zique from BS is organising a DPA OUTING ON FRIDAY, 10TH OCTOBER.
HERE'S AN EXCERPT FROM THE EMAIL.

We're having a DPA Outing this coming Friday, 10th October. Timing and Meeting Venue will be confirmed depending on the Outing 'Package' Chosen.

This outing will not cost more than $30 i promise you.

Package A: Ice Skating and eat out at Banquet. Party of 4 ice skate for $50 , unlimited timing. Meet at Jurong East MRT at 2pm. Go home by 8pm. (you need not know how to ice skate because kind dpasians will be more than welcome to teach you. Choose from ice skating to... arcade)

Package B: Buy Food at Mac and Cycle for 2 hours. After cycling we eat at Beach. Food + cycling = $15. Meet, 2pm at Jurong East Mrt or take own transport to East Coast park then meet at Mac. (choose from cycling, to skating, the arcade or even sun bathing/swimming in the sea)

Package C: Picnic at Botanical Gardens. From 2pm - 6pm. $15 budget to buy food and drinks. (shop at orchard and walk back to botanical gardens. PS. THAT IS THE ONLY THING I KNOW)

*all the outings are after 2 cos the muslims gotta go fri prayers :)

DPA SOCIETY UPDATE #2

Hey there!

Thank you for checking the dpa society blog.
SO... i submitted the proposal to the SDAR in charge and Edmund oh but none of them replied me.
However, we saw John from SDAR today and he asked me to email him the proposal. and voila! he replied back within 3 hours.
Here was what he replied:

" Thanks for your proposal. I congratulate you on your enthusiasm and vision.

Pls allow me to discuss with the DPA committee on your proposal.
We will get back to you.

Thanks. "

Hmmmm. He forwarded (CC-ed) several other SDAR people. I could only identify one other which is Fiona.
Let us cross our fingers that they will accept US FORMING THIS DAMN CLUB!

Hi y'all,

So as you know, the founders of DPA CLUB are still undergoing talks about the formation.

Basically everything about
1) What will DPA club be
2) How we should start going about for this
3) Organizing events / outings (Allows you to gain CCA points just by having fun)
4) Proposal for DPA CLUB
5) Getting approved (MOST IMPORTANT)

We seriously need all the support we can get from all 97 of you. So far, about 55 asked, 100% agreed to the forming of this VERY SPECIAL and UNIQUE club.

HISTORY OF DPA
DPA started in July 2007 with the submission and interviews. Results of our acceptance was released on 13th Aug 2007, before we took our O level Examinations.
The NPP program for all dpa started on 28th Jan 2008. And that was when we all first started meeting new people and started our bonding.
Having started our lessons before the April Batch, we knew people from the various schools and interacted with them through Sports & Wellness and of course, the camps.
The NPP program ended off with a bang at Kota Tinggi on 20th March 2008.
I'm proud to announce that YOU, DPA 2008 are the Pioneer batch of DPA.

But you may ask... what the **** is DPA CLUB all about?

DPA CLUB will be an EXCLUSIVE CLUB for all those who graduated from the DPA NPP program. Past, present and future batches.
We would be the biggest, largest club in school by year 3 if we DO SUCCEED.

FAQs

1) Do I have to be active to remain?
No. Once you are in the DPA CLUB family, you always will be. As they say, "Once you are in, you ARE IN."
However, if you want to gain CCA points, it is best that you participate in our events (if there is any) or take up a leadership position

2) My friend says DPA CLUB sounds cool and he/she wants to join. Can they?
All i can say is, if they are from DPA, we welcome them. But otherwise, currently we do not accept NON-DPA people. Who knows this would change after a few weeks/months/years?

3) Is this DPA CLUB only for DPA 08 graduates?
If this is successful, DPA CLUB will accept all DPA students from 2008 onwards, until the day MOE abolishes DPA (lets hope not)

4) So WHEN do we meet up and gain CCA points? what events are there? Is this on a weekly basis?
We know we can't possibly have all 97 meet up once during school since we all have different timetables ad different commitments.
We will try to meet regularly but not too often. perhaps once every 2 week or once a month, depending on whether we need to organize events.

5) TELL ME MORE ABOUT DPA CLUB!
If all these information isn't enough for you.
All I can say that we have PLENTY of cool stuff we want to achieve.
We would, however, divide them into Phases, starting from
Phase 1: Organizing Dpa 09 activities
Phase 2: DPA SHIRTS / Merchandise (LOL! but should be sponsored), Concerts, Movies.
Phase 3: Secret, in talks.
Phase 4: Secret, in talks

Check back often for updates.
And yes, we don't have all 97 of your emails, so checking this blog would be better and more efficient .
